Impact Offerings

Flames Employer Program

All student employment under the Flames Employers program will meet the Career Development high impact practice and be  considered a UIC Impact engagement opportunity. UIC Impact will partner with Flames Employers to round out the student employment experience in the units and to document the learning taking place in those roles. Flame Employers would make a commitment to the intentional professional development of each student employee. To become a Flames Employer, units must:

  • Have students complete four hours per semester of paid professional development
  • Work at least 50 hours per semester
  • Have students complete an end of the year reflection of their experience
  • Complete a written annual evaluation assessing students’ strengths, areas of professional growth, and learning and development outcomes as they relate to the student’s position

As a part of the Flames Employer program, UIC Impact will partner with Career Services and other units to provide a professional development series for student employees that prepares them for a successful job search.
